PAY DAY FOR MOMS

Dear "Working Moms",

This is for you --Working long hard hours whether you stay at home, or go to work.

I am reminded of the way you have to become a magician by making yourself appear in multiple places at once. I am reminded of how often you have to become a referee. There were also the times you were up overnight caring for your sick baby. One hour later you'd need to be awake with enough energy to get your children off to school.

I smile as I think about the fact that you were literally a walking bib for so long. Then, I remember how embarrassed you felt when you were seen sporting vomit and workout clothes. Only to realize that you never actually had a chance to workout because you wanted to make sure your home is presentable. You enter the house with a child on your hip, and you fall over a toy that was left behind. Then you hit your head, to stop your baby from getting hurt. Now you have a headache and your baby cracks her first smile and the pain instantly goes away. She falls asleep in your arms. You fall asleep.

Your alarm goes off... It's time to pick up your children from school. You wake your tired cranky baby. Then, you realize you forgot to run the errands as you planned ... some of those errands were bills. Now you have five minutes to collect your children, a pile of bills on your lap and a messy house. You grab your kids... late. They're upset and hungry, you grab McDonalds. Hand the food back then a fight starts. Orange HI-C spills all over your car. You go home to change everyone forgetting your kids have soccer at 4 and it is now 3:45. You arrive late... as always. Your tired cranky baby then has her meltdown in the middle of your kids soccer game. You say "I know you're tired". You feel like the other parents look at you in disbelief and roll their eyes.

Finally, class is over and you're headed home. You race home to clean and cook before your better half arrives. With no energy left you help with homework, bathe each child and play until dinner. "Honey I'm home" you sigh in relief, its time for dinner and a much needed break. You hand over the baby and set up for dinner. Everyone is full and in bed and now it's your time. You surf the web & check Facebook and see a post from a woman saying "Ugh! Stay at home moms make me sick... They have it so easy all they do is shop online all day and be lazy" or a post that says "I could never work a 9 to 5 and and let someone else raise my kids". That post, then makes you question all of the hard work you know you've done all day. You lay in bed and your better half says... "Hey did you pay the bills?" LOL!

I say all of that to say never question your hard work, it never goes unnoticed. The people who matter most view you as a super hero, because you are magic. You don't clock out. You don't get vacation time. You don't want it! You want nothing more than to make your children happy, keep them healthy and watch them grow.

However, please take time to do something special for yourselves. Carve out time for a date night, spa date, or a girls or guys night occasionally. Make time to workout and make yourself look and feel as good as your kids feel to be able to call you their mommy or daddy! It truly makes you a better parent.

They all grow up quickly, so when that time comes and your work load becomes lighter, take the time to encourage the people who may now have a better appreciation of how hard a mother's (or father) job actually is.

Think of and pray for our friends and family that long for just one more moment like that. Never take it for granted. Not one single second.

YOU'RE THE REAL MVP! It was on my heart to let you know that... I'm thankful for you.... thankful for us! ALL PARENTS! You do have the hardest job, but it's the most beautiful & rewarding job. So keep doing the damn thang!
